Once again, last month saw one of our favourite events take place – ‘Gymnastics Progress Medals’. All week long, parents were invited along to watch their children perform their latest skills and routines in front of the rest of the class and other parents. The head coach then selected one gymnast (from each of our 27 ability based gymnastic classes) whom they thought had made the most progress over the last six months. At the end of the class, each gymnast was awarded a well deserved gold medal for their hard work and determination.
Selecting one gymnast from each class can at times be quite difficult for coaches. We have many children at the club that come to class regularly and really show a great effort, determination and improvement week on week. However, attributes such as perseverance, attentiveness, class attendance as well as improvement in balance, agility and co-ordination during class (as well as their performance) all get taken into consideration when considering who deserves the progress medal.
We enjoy presenting these shiny gold medals to members who we feel deserve the recognition. It boosts a child’s confidence, gives them a sense of pride in what they do each week and gives them something to focus on and work towards. In addition, it’s a class event that all our members look forward to and enjoy, as well as the parents!
The Springfit team would like to congratulate all 27 gymnasts pictured below, who achieved this medal for their fantastic progress throughout the last six months.
