Everyone at Springfit would like to congratulate Chloe Forward who was the Springfit 2015 Winner of the
“Fay Greene Award for Progress in Gymnastics”
The trophy is presented annually to the gymnast who, in the opinion of the coaches, has made the most progress in the previous 12 months. All Head Coaches at the club decide who deserves the recognition, considering levels of dedication, achievement, competition, attitude and performance amongst other important skills taught in this hugely beneficial sport.
Worthy winner Seven year old Chloe trains with us at our Oriel High School training location on a Friday and Saturday. She has been training with us for two years and had no previous gymnastics experience when she joined us. As her confidence has improved Chloe has started to take part in competitions starting with the Trampette Competition last July. Achieving a silver medal in a very talented group of youngster competing in the club’s Floor and Vault Invitational Competition held at Oakwood Sports Centre in November 2015 certainly helped her stand out as well.
All the Coaches agree Chloe is doing really well and her love of gymnastics really shines through in her class and competition work. Chloe gets to keep the trophy until the winner for 2016 is decided next January.
The trophy was presented to the club back in 1998 by the parents of Fay Greene; a talented gymnast who was so enthusiastic about the sport that her family wanted her passion to live on through the club after Fay’s tragic death at an early age.
We are sure that Chloe will continue to improve and has her sights on retaining the trophy for another year!
