Last week saw one of our favourite regular events take place at the club; ‘Progress medals’ week. Parents were invited along to watch displays at all of our 28 ability based gymnastics classes.
Gymnasts performed competition routines and demonstrated impressive (and sometimes difficult) moves on various apparatus, showcasing their abilities and what they have learnt over the past six months. Each coach then chose one member from each class whom they thought had shown the most progress and awarded that child with a gold medal. This can often be a very difficult choice for our coaches as we have many children at the club that are so eager to learn and come to class each week. We think progress medals are a really important event in your child’s life here at the club. They encourage enthusiasm in classes throughout the year, it gives them something to work towards and it is fantastic for us to recognise those members that have worked hard, shown real determination and have significantly improved over the last six months.
Class displays are also a great way for parents to come and see how far their children have come on and to see how much fun they have! Not to mention the sense of pride parents feel seeing how well their children perform.
The displays also help children get used to performing for an audience, which prepare them for our fun local competitions that run throughout the year. They are a great way to boost your child’s self confidence and self esteem in other walks of life.
The Springfit team would like to thank all of the parents for coming along to watch the class displays and hope you enjoyed watching. And of course, we would like to say a huge congratulations and “Well Done!” to all 28 gymnasts pictured below who were awarded a gold medal for their fantastic progress over the past six months. Keep up the good work!
