On Sunday 7th April Springfit gymnasts competed for medals in a tumbling competition held by Pointers Gymnastics Club. The competition was held at Warlingham School and saw 69 gymnasts display the very best they had to offer.
Friends and families of the gymnasts anxiously watched on as loved ones performed well-rehearsed techniques for the judges.
Springfit members claimed their fair share of medals with Phoebe Homer, Isla-Rose Kelly, Faith Lambert, Carmen Bulger and Melia Phillips taking gold medals in the first half. Kate Adams, Jacob Layne, Saskia Spencer, Eloise Saunders and Emily Gouveia Correia winning gold in the second half. A special mention goes to Eloise Saunders who achieved an outstanding score of 9.45!
Huge congratulations are in order not only to the eventual medal winners but also all the hard working competitors who put on a brilliant display and shone when their time came to perform. Everyone involved was incredibly proud to be part of this supportive and positive environment which has provided many positives for children who enjoy their gymnastics. Thank you to Pointers for hosting such a great competition! We look forward to the next competition where we are sure the performance standards will be even higher!
