After a bit of a break due to a few busy weeks we are back to our “All About” posts, helping you to get to know the coaches a little better . Now it is the turn of Megan Snow who is one of our lovely Trampoline Head Coaches!
Megan has recently achieved her Level 2 qualification through British Gymnastics. Not only is she a coach but she is also still actively competing in trampolining at Regional and National level with the Gatwick Flyers club. She has started training DMT (Double Mini Trampoline) in the Summer 2015 and is already getting prepared for the National league in this discipline! Who better to teach you trampolining than a near ‘pro’?!
What does your perfect day look like?
I think it’s hard to say… It always depends on my mood I guess but I would have to say my perfect day would be just having fun spending time with my family or friends doing fun activities and going out.
Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?
I’ve been to loads of countries in my young life but the only place I’ve not been yet and would love to travel would be Thailand. (I am actually going to travel Thailand with friends in December hopefully : )
What makes you laugh the most?
I’m really lucky to have such a huge family where everyone makes each other laugh – however it’s always got to be my nieces and nephews who make me laugh the most as they are such little characters and speak their minds which always puts everyone in stitches!
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Erm.. This is hard as I’m already a fussy eater.. But I guess it would be my Dads roast dinner because they are yummy – minus the meat of course, as I’m not a fan of meats aha!
If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
Well if I could have any super powers I would totally have them all… Who wouldn’t!!?
What makes you happiest?
My cat! And if anyone knows me well they’ll understand my cat is my world aha!
Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island?
My cat, clearly, and seeing as he isn’t a person I would also like to be stranded with Superman because he’s be able to fly us all back home 🙂
How did you get into Trampolining/Gymnastics and what do you love about working for Springfit ?
It’s a really strange way I got involved but when I was younger I actually went to a ballet academy which took up 24 hours a week of my time and during that time we had gymnastic classes for flexibility and a variety of skills including somersaults. One day my dad took me to class before school as he wanted to see what it was like (he was an ex gymnast and trampolinist at a high level back in his day and was offered to train with GB) and he was amazed by what I could at the age of 3/4 that he wanted me to follow in his steps. So he took me to squad classes with Clubs and I enjoyed them so much so I continued! To this day I still compete up to and including National competitions!
I came to Springfit nearly a year ago so that I could have experience coaching in a different environment where I would be challenged more! And I’ve just found it so rewarding because I love seeing the faces on the children and adults as they progress during the classes, but also I just love coming into a place of work where everyone’s always so happy and full of energy because it just completes my day knowing everyone’s so happy. They often turn around and say they “can’t wait for the next class” which is what I love about Springfit classes. It’s all so welcoming and enjoyable no matter what the age or even if you’re a coach or participant in the classes!
