We are super proud to congratulate 12 year old Amelie Fobbester-Balk on winning our Elite Class Trophy.
This is a trophy awarded once a year to the single member of our elite class whom the coaches vote as having performed outstandingly throughout the last year, displaying determination and great progress. It rewards effort in improving flexibility, strength, attitude and performance in gymnastics.
This year’s winner, Amelie Fobbester-Balk, certainly fits this description. She has been doing the class for over two years now, and in this time has achieved grades 9 and 10, with steady progress on moves in the difficult grade 11.
Amelie’s head coach, Plamen, had this to say:
“Amelie has been in the elite class for a long time and she has always shown outstanding behaviour and always works hard towards the skills she needs to acquire to become a better gymnast. In the last year her somersaults and back handsprings have improved a lot.”
Fellow Coach Alisha said “For all the time I have coached Thursday Elite Class, I know she always happily participates in all aspects of this higher level training, with a lot of self-confidence and motivation to push herself to learn the harder, more advanced moves. By showing these attitudes, she has come a long way in both trampette and floor skills, now being able to somersault and flic by herself and she is rightly very proud of it.”
The Elite class at Springfit is not advertised, but only offered by personal invitiation to members who show a lot of promise in advanced classes and prefer not to join the intense competitive scene with excessive hours of training and high costs involved. Springfit are pleased to offer this further level of development for those who enjoy the focus on fun which remains at the core of Springfit Clubs, while still progressing their technique and learning new moves.
Amelie herself said of the award: “Gymnastics has been part of my life since I was 6 years old. It has made me strong and flexible and helped with other sports. It keeps me focused and resilient and I’ve met some great coaches and fellow gymnasts who encourage and support me. Joining Springfit was one of the best things my parents did for me. I am thrilled to have been awarded the trophy.”
