Are you frustrated at not being able to finally NAIL a certain skill? Or want to finesse a skill to make it look effortless?
This Half-Term, we are hosting some Skills Workshops at Oakwood Sports Centre, Horley.
Check out the different sessions available below to see if we have one that works for you!
The Schedule


Trampoline Skills Workshops

9am – Body Landings: Work on front landings and back landings; this is the perfect opportunity to pick the brains of the Head Coaches on hand to find out how to get the best technique, smoothest half-twist out or the best angle for back bounces. These skills form the basis of a LOT of other skills and are also key to linking some moves together. This is an absolute WINNER of a Workshop!

10am – Somersaults in Trampolining: the slightly lower ceiling at Oakwood Sports Centre will help you learn good control when bouncing and performing somersaults. Three trampolines are available to practice on, with two Head Coaches, to build your confidence in front somersaults, back somersaults and baranis!
Gymnastics Skills Workshops

9am – Handstands: Stand proud… on your hands! The Coaches will be ready to help you get steady on your hands in the Workshop. From learning control in the bunny hop to performing a full pirouette, we cover all things upside-down!

10am – Cartwheels & Round-offs: Straighten your legs, keep yourself upright and cartwheel with confidence! If you would like the control to cartwheel on a beam or to practice landing with your feet together in a round-off, this Workshop is here to help!

11am – Somersaults in Gymnastics: Exciting stuff ahead! You’ll be head over heels for the opportunity to work on somersaults. Make use of the Vault, Trampette and floor space to get up and over. There will also be Trampoline Coaches on hand to make use of the HUGE Trampolines so you will hopefully get to experience the motion of going over in a Somersault!
How Much Is It?
£10
It’s as simple as that. £10 per session. If you want to do one, you can sign up for just one. If you want to do multiple ones, add each one to your basket. Nice and easy!
What's It All About?
We want to give you the opportunity to share your tips with fellow members as well as get fresh perspectives on how to overcome skills that are proving tricky or getting in the way of progression through the syllabus.
The coaches will be on hand with advice to help you work on the skill for the whole hour. The entire time will be dedicated to various activities designed to help build confidence and technique of the main skill.
Who can do it?
Have you started one of the skills that the workshop is for? Have you been avoiding it up to now but want to tackle it head-on and build your confidence?
They could also be useful to help work on skills if they are included in the routine you are thinking of doing at the upcoming competitions. Practice getting pointed toes and hands, straight line-outs and confident landings!
None of These Sessions Are What I Want to Work On. What Can I Do?
More Skills Workshops can be arranged for the future and these can be almost ANYTHING! So don’t worry if you don’t see a Workshop that you’re super keen for. Pop an email to info@springfit.org or give the Springfit HQ Team a call on 0203 478 0203 and we will be able to make a list of all of the different things that YOU would be interested in. If we think we can build a Workshop for it, we will try to make it happen!
