Well done to everyone that participated in our trampoline competition on Sunday 15th March. Lots of enthusiastic trampolinists attended, trying their best to win a medal in their category.
Both judges and spectators were delighted by the amazing talent and motivation displayed during the day at Moor House School, Oxted.
We had 43 individuals and a synchro pair participating for the day. Entrants come from various clubs across Surrey and Sussex. This includes external club Anti Gravity as well as four of Springfit’s own Clubs; Hazelwick in Crawley, Oakwood in Horley, St Bede’s in Redhill, and Jubilee Centre in East Grinstead. Members of Springfit did an outstanding job bringing back 15 medals from various individuals across the participating clubs.
The youngest group, for entry level performers doing level I aged 7-9 years, all received scores within 0.27 marks of each other. This shows how difficult it was to separate the hard work put into the routines on the day. The winner, Oliver, scored 16.37 while the bronze medal winner, Summer, scored 16.10. Another group of performers doing level G also made it difficult for the judges, with the top three places all being separated by less than one mark.
A huge congratulations is in order to Springfit’s own Nicole and Sophie Kincaid; synchro partners who earned gold medals achieving an winning score of 15.05. We also introduced an all adults section to the competition, which was very well received and may have inspired some of the spectating parents to join a class!
At the top level, 14-year-old Charlie staged a magnificent comeback from only half-completing a very complex first routine with multiple comersaults to score big in his second attempt and secure a medal. The level of skill displayed was something that all participants can look up to, and we hope it encourages more keen adults and children to compete next time!
A highlight of the day is when judges get together to award the Marie Manhire-Clark trophy. This special trophy and gold medal is awarded to one individual who displays great determination and effort in competition. This was awarded to 10 year old Lily Fitzpatrick who carried on with her routines despite landing on one foot twice during the event. Your motivation and determination was clearly recognised by the judges. Well Done!
A big thank you is also owed to all the excited competitors, the organisers and the many friends and family who came to support. The day was a huge success and we hope it was enjoyed by all! We look forward to seeing you all again for our next event in the summer.

The next trampoline competition is scheduled for Sunday 5th July 2020 as detailed on the club calendar page.
