Thank you for the bottom of our hearts for all your generous donations for during our Fundraiser back in February. Both the British Heart Foundation and C-R-Y are extremely grateful for the monies which they can put towards valuable research.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in Fundraiser in February. We have raised a fantastic £543.59 for British Heart Foundation and C-R-Y (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
As you know these two charities are very much close to our heart as they represent Charlie Clifton and Marie Manhire-Clark who were a big part of Springfit and sadly both were taken by heart attacks in recent years.
All funds will be split evenly between the two charities.
Here are some of members getting into the spirit!
Throughout the week of Monday 22nd to Sunday 28th February we will be inviting all members to come along to classes wearing to raise money for the British Heart Foundation and C-R-Y (Cardiac Risk in the Young). All funds will be split evenly between the two charities.
Taking part is optional, and we only ask for a minimum donation of £2.00 per member to be handed to the coach at the beginning of the class or visit www.virginmoneygiving.com/team/Springfit to make your donation.

Members of Springfit gymnastics and trampoline club got behind a fundraising effort by wearing their pyjamas to classes throughout last week. The club ran a valentines themed event, offering love hearts as a thank you to everyone who contributed £2.00 to the fun day which will see all funds go directly into purchasing more equipment for use in classes.
Everyone had a great time jumping on the trampolines and tumbling around the gym floor in their PJ’s, and many brought their teddies to come and watch too!
The club raised £800 across 50 classes and had a lot of fun playing games and performing routines in what turned out to be very suitable, comfortable clothing for the sports!
Pictured below is seven year old Zabi Bharmal from Redhill who attends classes at Oakwood Sports Centre in Horley, and Assistant coach Josh Pinney getting into the spirit of things with a full dressing-gown outfit.
Throughout the week of Monday 11th to Sunday 17th February we will be inviting all members to come along to classes in their pyjamas to help raise money for new equipment.
Taking part is optional, and we only ask for a minimum contribution of £2.00 per member to be handed to the coach at the beginning of the class.
Everyone involved gets a thank-you treat to take home!
All funds raised will be distributed between every venue throughout the club and put directly into new equipment.
We are aiming to purchase lots of new equipment including gymnastics bars, springboards and coaching blocks, as well as new trampoline beds, push in mats and safety end decks, so all contributions are appreciated. For details about our fundraising efforts to date, please see our fundraising page.
We also invite our members to bring along a teddy bear to watch classes, and photos may be taken for a short article about the event for our website or a press release, so please feel free to join the valentines fun along with your little friends and help the club out at the same time.
We look forward to seeing you along!

It’s HAPPY CHRISTMAS to our Oriel members as Santa drops off a brand new 12 metre air track to the growing venue.
With new classes starting on Saturdays from January, the exciting new equipment comes at a great time to help the new improvers level classes develop their skills in gymnastics.
Serving nearly 150 children at Oriel, the air track will be a source of inspiration for coaches and members alike as they seek to progress and further enjoy the sport.
All kinds of moves can be learnt on the air track, from backflips to somersaults and freestyle tricking skills. Coaches recognise the equipment as one of the most versatile and useful tools available to help develop gymnastics ability, and Springfit members seem to agree!
One member of our St Bede’s venue class has already managed a double backflip on an air track! We look forward to seeing many more moves from our wonderfully talented Friday squad class and huge smiles from our Saturday morning Funfit members. The pre-schoolers are already acquainted with the equipment, having enjoyed jumping around, trying new moves at our last session before the end of the year. It’s so much fun!
Below you can see coach Abbie testing out the equipment last Friday, with Santa teaching trampolining in the background!
Springfit are delighted to announce that our 2012 calendars are now on sale at the club for £10 each.
There is a limited supply of 250 calendars in stock at the office, and once they are sold out we will not have any more available.
As the last fundraising event of 2011, we are hoping to raise another £900 to buy equipment from our targets list if we sell them all.
You can buy yours directly from coaches at the club, or by making a £10 payment online here [click].
Featuring photos from all classes at our three main venues; St Bedes, Oakwood and Oriel, the calendars have been superbly designed and produced by our friends at Pinksheep printing.
With thanks to our photographers Dan Shaw, Abbie Fairhead and Anne Everitt, and to all those who were involved in the photos.
Please remember that ALL PROCEEDS GO DIRECTLY BACK INTO YOUR CLUB – All sales will help us buy new equipment for classes.
Thank you for supporting your club.
