Springfit’s inaugural trampoline progress medal awards took place last week for all thirty classes at the club.
Every six months the coach from each class will decide on the individual who has made the most progress recently, considering factors such as perseverance, gaining a good move, listening to the coach, good ‘spotting’ for safety and attendance.
The special session is a good opportunity for parents to come and watch the class if they don’t usually attend too. Participants will demonstrate their latest moves and show off their strengths in trampolining. The improvements in basic balance and co-ordination as well as the more subtle aspects such as increased spatial awareness and confidence are encouraging to see for all who come along to the class.
The gold medal award is greatly anticipated by the gymnasts, some of whom have been working very hard on their moves in the sport for a long time. The certificates and badges each member achieves in classes can begin to slow in their rate of attainment as the moves get harder, and the progress award is a good way to ensure their continued efforts are still rewarded.
The progress medals are not only for the children either. Springfit have seven adult trampoline classes and they were all included in being recognized for their efforts in class.
The majority of classes are for children around four years and up though. Most parents herald the trampoline sessions as an important part of their children’s lives. Even those who are new to trampolining quickly warm up to the friendly environment, and the smiles observed at Springfit sessions are further proof for parents and children alike that the experience is of huge benefit.
The Springfit team would like to shout a big ‘Well Done!’ to all thirty gymnasts listed below, who achieved this medal on their fantastic progress throughout the last six months.
