Springfit hosted their first invitational trampoline competition on Saturday 26th June at Moor House School Sports Centre in Oxted.
On a scorching hot Saturday, children from various local recreational clubs came together to compete for medals in different age and ability categories.
Spectators watched some fantastic jumping displays from the balcony and showed their support for the very determined athletes. There were a few shocked gold medal winners who were delighted with the results in some very close to call categories. Many children were taking part in higher categories for the first time, and many regulars on the scene got their rewards for the training hours they put in to better their score from last time. Rosie Fuller from Pointers club in Caterham was one of these, who achieved Gold in the Advanced category with an outstanding somersaulting routine. There were also huge smiles for 7 year old Amber Jackson from Coulsdon-based Anti-Gravity club, who won an amazing double-gold for her synchronised pairs display and tidy grade 9 routine.
Every competitor showed determination on the apparatus, and enjoyed a fun and friendly atmosphere at the popular event. Many expressed their anticipation of the next competition no sooner than straight after the medal presentation!
