The Saturn V Association showcased their latest trampoline competition held at The Sports Hall at Moor House School in Hurst Green on Saturday 27th June.
Member clubs from Caterham, Oxted, Horley, Warlingham, Selsdon and Coulsdon all entered children for the competition.
Parents and family members turned out on a hot day to show their support from the balcony of the Sports Centre as their children from age 6 to 17 put on a fine display in six different ability grades.
All competitors received a certificate of achievement for entering and medals were awarded at each level for high scorers.
There were plenty of entrants who had never done a competition before, and many of them were delighted to walk away with rewards for their endeavours. Among those who turned out for the first time, were gold medallist winners Amber Jackson (6) and Lucy Pidgeon (8), who clearly impressed the panel of judges with their routines.
There was also repeated success for some who won medals at the last event, including Liam Chennery (13), Katie Pidgeon (11), Emily Reeves (7), and Hollie Knight (11).
Hollie won Gold at Grade 8 in February, and matched her achievement in the next category up, taking away gold at Grade 9 this time round.
Hollie attends trampolining classes at Oakwood Sports Centre in Horley, and is pictured here furthest left, along with all the other happy medal winners.

On Sunday 14th June at de Stafford Sports Centre, Caterham, Saturn V Association of Gymnastics and Trampoline clubs, held their first Floor and Vault Competition of 2009. Much improvement was shown in all gymnasts who performed to their best in both Floor and Vault, and impressed all friends and family who came to show their support.
The standard of competition entry was high and the gymnasts performed with enthusiastic competence. Medals were awarded in three categories, under 9’s, 10 years plus, and a new category for those who train more than once a week.
Pictured below are the medal winners, from back row left to front row right:
Hannah Bagley (9), Abbie Clifton (10), Harri Nichols (11), Rachna Patel (10), Amber Clifton (13), Maxine Coldrey (9), Jessica Lawes (8), Dominic Montgomery (10) and Daisy Roadnight (10).
The first competition of 2009 was held on Sunday 22nd March for Saturn V Association member clubs who met at Oakwood Sports Centre, home of Springfit Gymnastics and Trampoline Club, for a Tumbling and Acrobatic competition.
This was the biggest turnout of proud friends and family the clubs have ever seen, seating over 90 people. The competition consisted of two disciplines, first being tumbling and then very well performed acrobatic performances.
There was success for many of the younger gymnasts who showed good control at the novice tumbling grades which preceded the older, more experienced gymnasts showing their new somersaulting skills at the more advanced Grade 7 level. Each gymnast performed to their best and wowed the spectators.
Judges were very impressed with the strength and flexibility the gymnasts showed in their well choreographed acrobatic pair and trio routines. Acrobatics is a discipline which uses no apparatus but only the strength and trust of each other to balance, performed to music with entertaining dance moves linking elements.
Pictured below are the Tumbling and acrobatic medal winners showing some of their acrobatic skills:

Members of Springfit Gymnastics and Trampoline club were invited to Leatherhead Leisure Centre to take part in their annual recreational trampoline competition on 21st March.
Seven representatives of the Horley based club travelled up to compete against members of Leatherhead trampoline club. Trophies were awarded to the top 3 scorers in 4 different categories; Under 12 and over 12 Novice & Improvers.
There were many excellent performances for spectators to enjoy, and the Springfitters did brilliantly, with Katie Pidgeon picking up a first place trophy and Laura Songhurst earning second place in the under 12’s Improvers category.
There were also outstanding performances from the under 12 Novices, including 7year old Lottie Drawbridge, who attends Saturday morning Funfit classes at Springfit club, as well as an intricate and difficult routine by Yasmin Anderson for the over 12’s Improvers, with multiple twists and somersaults comprising her voluntary routine.
Head Coach Adam Reynolds was very impressed with how well each child promoted the merits of the club outside the regular Saturn V competitive circle, and how everyone was seen to enjoy and benefit from the experience.
Pictured here are all the competitors with their trophies and medals:

Springfit gymnastics and trampoline club at recently held sit-in sessions for parents of class members at Oakwood Sports Centre, Horley.
The sit-in sessions are arranged twice a year to showcase gymnasts’ progress and perform routines for spectators’ entertainment. New skills that children are learning in their classes were highlighted with individual moves performed and group routines also showcased.
Those attending were delighted to see the show their children put on, and enjoyed the dynamics provided by the coaches of each class.
Each and every child was recognised for their excellent progress made in just 6 months, and coaches rewarded one member of each class with a progress medal, to the child they considered to have shown the most effort and enthusiasm for gymnastics. The class displays are a fantastic way of helping the gymnasts get used to performing for a crowd, and provides the parents in attendance with a great deal of pride.
Pictured here from left to right are all the progress medal winners for this month at Springfit club: Zoe Smith (7), Louison-Yves Dubois-Keen (7), Michela Cooper (13), Chloe Lawrence (8) and Annabel Telfer (8).
13 year old Amber Clifton from Horley has been awarded the annual Springfit Elite trophy for her exemplary performances throughout 2008.
The trophy was first awarded last year by departing Elite class founder Stacey Rodd and stands for achievements in flexibility, strength, attitude and performance.
Amber has competed at every major event Springfit club has attended, winning many medals, and has shown enormous levels of motivation and ambition in gymnastics. The Elite class has continued to provide further hours of training to members through invitation by Head Coaches from advanced classes.
Amber was especially proud to have been chosen from the small class of Elite individuals, and has declared her intention to continue showing the attitude towards attainment that has helped her get to the level that she is today.
Amber is pictured receiving the trophy during the Thursday Elite class:
10 year old Abbie Clifton from Horley has been awarded the coveted “Fay Greene Award for Progress in Gymnastics” trophy for her outstanding achievements throughout the last year.
The trophy is awarded annually by Springfit Gymnastics and Trampolining club to the gymnast who, in the opinion of the coaches, has made the most progress in the previous 12 months.
The award has been well deserved for Abbie who has shown great enthusiasm for the sport, and has gained many new moves in the last year. Training only 3 hours a week, Abbie has been able to achieve back and front somersaults on the floor, and is keen to improve her acrobatic abilities along with vaulting technique.
Abbie said of her achievement: “It’s really great to finally get the trophy. I really enjoy gymnastics, and now I can see my name on the cup alongside all the other great gymnasts at the club.”
